On behalf of the organizing committee as well as the conference chairman, it’s a great pleasure to welcome you to the Third International Conference on Rail Transportation (ICRT2024), in Shanghai, China. This conference follows earlier successful conferences held in Chengdu (2017, 2021) and ICRT2024 will take place from 7 to 9 August 2024. Those who are engaged and interested in rail transportation technology are welcome to participate in the ICRT2024.

ICRT2024 is devoted to provide an international forum for scientists, researchers, and engineers around the world to exchange the knowledge, ideas and experiences in rail transportation planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance. The Second International Conference on Rail Transportation (ICRT2021) was a meaningful innovation. Nearly 300 participants attended the conference on site and almost 10,000 scholars participated in the keynote lectures through the online platform. The participants shared and discussed their latest research results and gained new ideas and methods of rail transportation development.

We have protected the work already done for creation of the scientific program of the conference and the plenary keynote presentations on different research topics. This conference has received tremendous supports from all over the world, and considering many requests from potential delegates, the online submission system for abstract has been opened until 31 October, 2023 for everyone. Please submit your abstract(s) as soon as possible via http://www.icrt.org.cn/UserCentral/Index/Login. It is note that all the scientists, researchers, and engineers in the rail transportation community are encouraged to participate this conference no matter whether your papers were accepted or not. As planned before, the most innovative papers will be awarded for publication in the international Journal of Rail Transportation and Railway Engineering Science. All accepted papers can be chosen by authors to be published by ASCE (6-10 pages, subjected to peer-review by the International Scientific Committee) or just electronically included in the conference proceedings (no requirement for the pages). The details of conference program including the registration information will be announced later.
